The S6 was as innovative in the bus industry of the 50’s as an independently driving electrical car is today.

Sci-Fi authors weren't impressed because they had seen the S6 driving on other planets and working people didn't want to ride it because the UFOs got access to their thoughts right through the class roof.

Self-conscious beautiful people ride in it because the same way the passengers looked out from the bus, everyone could see in. A ride in that bus was as comfortable as riding in a VW beetle.

The S6 can manoeuvre in any smaller or larger settlement without causing the driver's shirt to tear or him cursing in German.

  • The bus has 20 seats from which the first ones are more comfortable but the last row is right above the engine and their backs are not adjustable as are the rest of the seats. But that does not cut its awesome reputation.
  • All middle seats can be shifted towards the isle by a centimetre so you do not need to touch shoulders the entire trip. It also gives the opportunity to basically trap the people in the back which might not be a bad thing if you need to sleep.
  • You cannot take lots of luggage with you, only a couple of souvenirs because the luggage compartment is the size of a regular car's compartment space.
  • You can also pack your things in a fancy suitcase and attach it to the roof but if it starts to rain then everything will be wet.
  • The bus has a microphone through which the guide can introduce themselves and the city.
  • You must take into account the possibility of getting some extra attention because the bus will not go unnoticed.
Setra S6

History

Setra S6 is the first bus produced in a series that was built with unibody construction.

That means that before the bus body was fixed on a truck chassis but now the entire body and chassis are welded together and all the necessary details and junctions were fixed on it. For the first time the engine was located at the back which made maintenance easier and also allowed isolating the engine noise from the saloon. After the Setra S6 appeared on the roads many other buses transformed and became similar to the Setra.
